The B Corp Leadership Development (BLD) Conference is an incredible event, where the B Corp community comes together to learn from each other, share wisdom, and celebrate our collective impact. Last year, we had over 50 different B Corps attend! It’s not often we get such a diverse group of individuals together, all from different industries with different experiences and backgrounds, which makes BLD a truly unique experience.
The Urgent News
We need a committee chair (or co-chair) for the BLD 2019 planning committee. This person is an essential member of the committee, as they are responsible for making sure that everything is progressing according to schedule. A good committee chair knows how to delegate, promote accountability, and encourage cooperation in their team. Because it is a leadership role, they will often provide input on most aspects of the conference, including logistics, sponsorship, content, and speaker opportunities. For this reason, if we don’t get a committee chair, BLD 2019 will not happen, even if other people step up to fill in the other committee roles.
The Good News
We have a 13 page conference summary from BLD Western Canada 2018! This includes role descriptions from the 2018 planning committee, plus what worked well for each role and suggestions for improvement, all of the logistic details, the agenda, content overview, sponsorship strategies, and much more. This will be an invaluable tool to build off of for BLD 2019!
The committee chair will have an entire team supporting them. Last year, the planning committee had 13 members.
