Vote Every Day
B Lab’s Vote Every Day (VED) campaign is coming to Canada! Designed to increase public awareness of the B Corp brand and values, it’s an excellent time to be actively communicating the positive impact you’re creating as a B Corp.
“Voting with our values” means being deliberate with our dollars. It’s understanding that our collective impact structures our future, but that this impact begins at the level of the individual - specifically, with the choices we make every day.
This understanding of collective impact lies at the core of the B Corp movement, as it is made up of individual B Corps, made up of individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their community. However, B Corps are only one part of the equation: the other driving force is consumer awareness, which is what VED is aiming to increase. Overall, when consumers support the businesses that resonate with their values by voting with their dollars, these social purpose companies can continue to do what they do best: use their business as a force for good!

Inclusive Economy Challenge - 2019
The IEC is the perfect opportunity to put into practice your desires to create a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. Many of us have the intention of creating equal opportunities, but it can be an overwhelming initiative - there are many areas to consider: governance, community, workplace…
Thankfully, B Lab has broken it down for us. Using the Inclusive Economy Metric Set, it’s easier than ever to define your EDI goals. Plus, the updated interface of the B Impact Assessment (BIA) allows you to specify your goals directly on your company’s BIA, set due dates, and track your progress.
Important things to keep in mind
Your IEC goals must be chosen by January 18, 2019 for your results to be included in the IEC 2019 report
To participate in IEC, a minimum of 3 goals must be chosen
The challenge is to achieve these goals by August 30, 2019
And finally… it’s alright if you don’t meet all your goals! The IEC is not about grades but about setting up a framework for these goals to be met, whether it’s in the next two months, a week before the deadline, or a year away!
